Teenage Harp Course 2010

 

2010 was in inaugural year for the Teenage Harp Course, sponsored by Salvi Harps. Many past students of the Junior Harp Course wanted to come back on the Harp Course but as they were now so much older than the younger harpists on the Junior Course it was decided to start this new course specifically for teenage children aged 14 to 18 year olds.

As well as the daily classes taught in small groups with the tutors, each student had their own personal practice sessions. Being a slightly older group they were also able to take part in solo repertoire workshops with Ruth Faber and Eleanor Turner as well as all being able to enjoy Eleanor's fabulous recital at Millfield School Concert Hall.

 

The Students learnt about looking after their harps during a harp maintenance workshop given by William Hornby and with a harp shop provided by Salvi Harps and a Bow Brand Prize. The group also had a shopping trip to Clarks Village, a trip to Glastonbury Tor and a make-over session. There was much to keep all the students very busy.
